A rich curriculum offered with bespoke pathways to help support our students' future ambitions.
At Joyce Frankland Academy, Newport, every student’s future is extremely important to us and we want them to leave us believing that they have the power to achieve their potential in all areas of their lives. Our curriculum is therefore designed with the aim of enabling students to fulfil their potential and flourish. Every one of our students follows a bespoke curriculum pathway which is built around a combination of traditional and innovative areas of study. Students begin their educational journey studying a traditional core of subjects supplemented by a range of exciting opportunities in other areas from music to technology, computing to Latin. At the end of key stage 3, our bespoke options process ensures that every student is provided with advice and guidance which results in every student continuing with a curriculum which best suits their individual needs. Furthermore, new opportunities such as photography, media studies and sociology are now options at GCSE and there is a continued route through into A-level for these subjects. Our key stage 5 curriculum continues to provide our students with a bespoke and rich curriculum and ensures that they given the best possible preparation to succeed in higher education training and employment. From A-levels to BTECs, from apprenticeships to Russell Group Universities, our sixth form caters for all of our students in a personalised and caring manner.
