Christmas Card Competition 2019
Posted On: 06/12/19
The Art department were delighted to receive so many entries for our Christmas card competition: 35 in total. Making a decision about a winning entry, therefore, proved to be very difficult and so it was decided to split the entries into two age categories (Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 & 5). The standard was incredibly high, with students making obvious use of their art experience and exploiting the skills we aim to develop in art lessons. Mr Roberts and I were impressed by your efforts and enthusiasm.
The winners were:
Anezka Gilder-Wood Yr 13
Finlay White Yr 9
Ola Ziencina Yr 9
Olivia Clark Yr 7
Miss Davis has given each student who entered an R2 and the winning students are to receive a Principal's Commendation, in addition to receiving an art prize from the department.
The Art department will be organising for all entries to be displayed in the hall during the Christmas fayre, so students and parents can see them.
We will also print the winning cards to be used by Mr Roberts, to send to Friends of Joyce Frankland Academy.
Thank you to Miss Davis for all her work in organising the competition, promoting the arts and providing an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our young artists.
