The latest Euroschoolnet2000 AGM was held in Übach-Palenberg, Germany in October 2019 (see photo above). Issues discussed included new projects being submitted to Erasmus, ways of bringing together students from all the participating schools as well as membership issues.
Our 'Sports with no borders' project is now in its 2nd year. We are working with schools in Germany, Spain and the Netherlands and feedback from the first year's exchanges has been fantastically positive (click on 'Erasmus project 2018-20' for more information). We are looking forward to our upcoming exchange with our partner school in the Netherlands
The first exchange took place with Carolus Magnus Gymnasium, a school in Übach-Palenberg, Germany in February 2019 and was a great success with a variety of new sports including ultimate frisbee and orienteering tried out in Germany and in the Netherlands (the school is near the Dutch border). The day spent in the Netherlands was particularly fruitful as we were also joined by the Dutch and Spanish schools for ice skating, floorball and football.
It was great to hear the following feedback from one parent:
'Our son was reluctant and apprehensive beforehand but he came back full of confidence, with a spring in his step. He told us he really enjoyed it and would definitely want to go again, which is brilliant.'
Our German partner school visited us in May and cricket, rugby, hockey and orienteering was enjoyed by all. Many thanks to our parents for being such great hosts, the German teachers were incredibly positive about the visit!
