Euroschoolnet 2000 AGM meeting held at Urola Ikastola Azkoitia/Azpeitia B.H.I, Basque Country Spain 29th September-2nd October
Principal Gordon Farquhar and International Coordinator Graham Hesketh joined their European partners from The Euroschoolnet 2000 network for the recent AGM where they discussed issues concerning the network which is now in its 16th year of existence.
Over the 3 days the members discussed matters that included future membership extension, dates for exchanges as well as welcoming new members such as our friends from Estonia who attended their first AGM. However, perhaps the main business of the trip was to begin arranging the new Erasmus + KA 2 project with 9 other members schools of our European partners which is titled “How it is to live, study and work in a foreign EU country.”
Members also discussed a second project ‘Sports without Borders’ which was not successful in its first bid but was placed on a reserve list by the British agency. It was decided this project would be amended and re-submitted for March 2016.
Whilst in the Basque Country delegates also enjoyed visiting Insausti palace, Azkoitia, meeting the mayor of Azpeitia as well enjoying the cultural atmosphere of San Sebastian where they witnessed demonstrations of the local sport Pelota.
